Composting seems like a daunting task but really anyone can do it and its super easy. Listed below I have put a few steps to lower your waste output and keep co2 out of landfill emissions!
- Buy a bin WITH A GOOD SEAL-ABLE LID
- Depending on how much food waste your house produces will determine the size
- You can get a bin made just for composting or buy a cheap plastic bin from Walmart
- Get some composting bags
- These are just like trash bags, but compostable. People use them for leaves when cleaning up their yard, but stores also make them smaller if you have a smaller bin
- Contact local community gardens and/or local farms near by
- Ask them if they could use food scraps for compost
- Make sure to ask what types of materials they accept
- Some accept eggs, some don't
